The Montana Tech library has several useful books related to Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. These titles include both physical materials (print books) and electronic materials (ebooks). Below you will find some useful tips and tricks to help you find what you need, as well as links to a few of the many books we have available for you to use!
- Physical Books: Our print books are organized using Library of Congress (LOC) classification, meaning titles are grouped together by their subject matter. A book's call number is like an address where the item can be found in the library. For example, books on science are grouped under call numbers beginning with the level "Q". More specifically, call numbers for books on physics begin with the call number "QC" and chemistry begins with "QD". Books on technology are grouped under the "T" call number, and books on civil engineering are found under "TA", books on environmental technology under "TD" and books on metallurgy are found under "TN". Many books on materials science and metallurgy may be found in these sections.
- Ebooks: Ebooks do not have physical call numbers. However, you can easily find ebooks by performing a digger library search and then narrowing down your results to show only ebooks. Be sure to ask a librarian if you'd like us to show you how to do this. Ebooks can be accessed anytime--even off-campus.
- To find either print or electronic titles, begin by searching the library catalog. For more information on finding resources, visit the "General Library Information" tab of this guide. Below you will find just a few of the many useful print and electronic titles you can access through the library.
